Condega Serie S Edición Especial Volcanes Cerro Negro has just erupted and promises an explosion of flavor waves to surf. This special release has begun shipping to the best tobacco stores around the world, bursting into the premium cigar market with the strength of the volcano to which it pays tribute with its name. Cerro Negro is the youngest volcano in Central America, originated in 1850 and located in the department of León, Nicaragua, characterized by the deep black color of the volcanic sand that covers its steep and disturbing slopes where tourists from all over the world love to go down as if they were traveling on a sea of ash.
Condega Cerro Negro is a new limited edition cigar line offered in a (6 ¾ x 52) Double Figurado box-pressed with production limited to 7500 boxes of 10 cigars. Each puff causes «emotion, freedom and symbiosis with nature». The beautiful packaging design uses the brand’s corporate colors as follows: the red color on both sides of the lid symbolizes the erupting lava, while the black color on the outer and inner sides and on the outer bottom of the box represents the dark slopes of the volcano. The inside bottom of the box bears the logo of the special edition Volcanes de Nicaragua under which appears, in white, the name CERRO NEGRO and the geographical coordinates of the volcano’s location on Earth.
Each of the ten cigars found inside the box comes protected in an coffin, designed exclusively for Condega Cerro Negro, where the red color has a starring role. At the top of the coffin, we can find the Condega Cigars logo, and at the bottom, the representation of a volcano in black and white. On all them, the reference to the cigar line is printed in gold: Edición Limitada 2022 Volcanes de Nicaragua Cerro Negro.
The cigar incorporates two bands: the main band with the Condega Serie S logo on a black background edged in gold; the secondary band comes in gold with the Edición Limitada 2022 inscription in black.
Experts who have already tried Condega Cerro Negro say that its smoke roars with smoke and fire emanating from the very bowels of the Nicaraguan soil. It is described as a medium-to-full strength blend with a beautiful and oily Colorado wrapper that covers the binder and filler of typically Nicaraguan tobacco. The wrapper gives off a ton of nuts, orange and cloves aromas. After lighting, we find a combination of cinnamon, pepper, coffee and citrus flavors. A balanced explosion in taste to enjoy an extraordinary evolution in the smoke.
The first third starts out with a good amount of spice and subtle black pepper. The pepper fades very quickly in this one revealing more spice along with bold notes of citrus, honey, vanilla, and cedar backed by some light pine, earthiness, and soft cocoa. The draw opens up kicking out great amounts of thick, gray smoke. The cigar burns absolutely beautifully from start to finish.
In the second third of Condega Cerro Negro the cedar has really taken charge of the flavor profile backed by bold spice, vanilla, and citrus along with soft notes of honey and earthiness.
In the final third cedar and vanilla are front and centered back by notes of honey, cocoa, earthiness, spice and pine.
